THE ALL-NEW 2018 CHEVROLET EQUINOX
A TRIO OF TURBOS
The exhilaration for Equinox comes with the power of three. For 2018, we’re introducing a trifecta of turbos designed to bring you all the power and torque you need for your daily drive or a weekend getaway. The new 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine uses the technologies of Continuously Variable Valve Timing and Direct Injection to deliver responsive performance with unexpected efficiency. It puts 170 horsepower at your command, along with 203 lb.-ft. of torque. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 26 MPG city/32 highway (FWD) and 24 MPG city/30 highway (AWD). The 252-horsepower 2.0L turbocharged engine takes performance to an even higher level. The turbo generates up to 20 pounds of boost for the torque you’d normally expect from a larger-displacement engine. A 9-Speed automatic transmission, available exclusively with the 2.0L turbocharged engine, is designed to help keep the engine operating at near peak efficiency. Shifts are ultra-smooth since ratio steps are smaller. It’s a world-class combination.
ALL-NEW 1.6L TURBO-DIESEL ENGINE
This engine is efficient, fun to drive and quiet. Advanced features include stop/start technology, and the turbocharger helps provide excellent low-end torque for smooth merging and passing power. The all-new 1.6L turbo-diesel engine is equiped with a 6-Speed automatic transmission, tuned for quick launch feel and fuelefficient1 cruising, the 6-speed automatic perfectly complements the turbo-diesel engine. Adaptive Shift Control with auto grade braking can help reduce the need to brake during a hill descent.

AVAILABLE ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY HELPS YOU COVER ALL THE ANGLES
Low speed braking, available on Premier, camera-based Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking can help mitigate front-end collisions with detected vehicles at speeds below 50 mph. The system may even help avoid a collision at very low speeds. Forward Collision Alert feature helps identify vehicles ahead and warns the driver of possible front-end collision threats, helping provide time to stop and/or change course. If the system determines that a front-end collision with a detected vehicle is imminent, it alerts the driver to a potential crash. It also warns the driver if their Equinox is following a detected vehicle much too closely.
At speeds above 37 mph, this available camera-based system monitors road lines and will gently turn the steering wheel if the vehicle begins changing lanes without the use of a turn signal. With radar sensors on both sides of the vehicle, available Side Blind Zone Alert helps to warn you when vehicles are in your side mirror blind zones and indicates their presence with LED-lit symbols in the exterior mirrors. Working with Side Blind Zone Alert, available Lane Change Alert employs radar sensors in the rear corners of the vehicle to help detect and warn the driver of fast-approaching vehicles in the adjacent lanes from up to 82 feet away, not just in the side view mirror blind zones. Using the same radar sensors as Lane Change Alert, this available feature alerts you to crossing traffic behind your Equinox when backing up.
Audible warnings, as well as visual alerts on the rear vision camera screen, are triggered if approaching vehicles are detected from either side. Standard on all models, the rear vision camera displays a view of the area immediately behind the vehicle on the touch-screen — making it easier to see what’s behind you while backing up. Rear Park Assist is ideal when pulling into a parking spot at low speeds, this available system senses stationary objects and warns you if an object is too close. The rear vision camera automatically displays a live image of the area behind the vehicle on the available Chevrolet MyLink screen after you shift into Reverse. When oncoming headlamps are sensed or when taillamps are detected in front of you, the available IntelliBeam® high beam assist intuitively adjusts between low and high beams.
